Chaim Friedman – Managing Director

Chaim, originally from Monsey, NY, received his B.A. in Economics from Yeshiva University and has spent the entirety of his professional career in the mortgage industry. Prior to co-founding First Israel Mortgage, Chaim served as a senior mortgage banker and operations manager at one of the leading mortgage lenders in the tri-state area for over 7 years.

Tzvi Shapiro – General Manager

Tzvi first came to Israel in 1995 from Passaic, NJ. He completed his B.S. in New York at the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University before returning to Israel. Prior to co-founding First Israel Mortgage, Tzvi served in numerous managerial and operational roles spanning the banking and financial industries.

Shaul Guttman – Head of Operations

A native of Brooklyn, NY, Shaul emigrated to Israel 2001. He brings a wealth of experience to the First Israel Mortgage team, having worked both as a senior mortgage banker in America as well as a senior mortgage consultant in Israel. He administers the firm’s relationships with numerous banks, acting as liaison between them and First Israel’s brokerage staff.

Josh Ben-David – Business Development Manager

Josh brings years of experience in communications, marketing and business strategy to the First Israel Mortgage team. Prior to joining First Israel, he served as the communications coordinator for a leading Israeli research institute and later as the marketing manager of a major real estate development firm. Josh ensures that First Israel Mortgage continues to provide professional service and secure quality mortgages for a growing clientele.

Stephen Mauskopf – Senior Mortgage Broker

Stephen brings 10 years of U.S. business experience including extensive work in banking and finance. Stephen is responsible for generating new client relationships and servicing those already established. After receiving a BS from Touro College, Stephen moved from NY to Israel in 2001.

Daniel Schecter – Senior Mortgage Broker

Born in Baltimore, MD and raised in Jerusalem, Daniel received his BA from the City University of New York after being discharged as a first sergeant from the Israel Defense Forces. He continued his education at Bar Ilan University where he completed an MBA in 2010. Since 2003, Daniel has used his vast knowledge and experience as a senior loan officer in the US and Israeli mortgage markets to help his clients secure financing for their homes.
